We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Application Engineer to drive technical programs in the electrical markets, focusing on application development and product innovation. This role involves collaborating with customers, providing input on application development, and contributing to product commercialization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the product portfolio and market and will play a key role in Customer Inspired Innovation programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with business and global technical teams to identify growth opportunities.
• Provide technical field support and technical marketing of 3M electrical solutions to customers.
• Lead application development activities for medium and high voltage cable accessories, including product modification and localization.
• Manage field trials and pre-qualification activities with key accounts.
• Conduct failure analysis and postmortem evaluations of cable accessories.
• Coordinate with external labs to conduct type testing.
• Deliver theoretical and hands-on product training to both internal and external customers on the latest 3M products and solutions.
• Perform competitive analysis of 3M products and help establish 3M value propositions.
• Serve as an industry expert, influencing the engineering community through presentations, paper publications, and involvement in professional bodies/committees.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, preferably with a specialization in Power Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in the power engineering sector, with preference given to candidates experienced in medium and high voltage cable accessories.
• Knowledge of medium and high voltage distribution, transmission, switchgears, and transformers is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Hands-on, self-driven, innovative, and strong leadership attributes.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driving license.
