Job Title: Budget and Accounting Specialist (1)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Budget and Accounting Specialist to manage our financial planning, budgeting, and accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial records, preparing financial reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) requirements and standards. A Licensed CPA is required, and experience in public transport is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive revenue, income, and cost framework specifically for Davao Bus, aligning with overall company financial goals.
  • Train local staff in Davao to effectively oversee and manage the newly developed revenue, income, and cost framework.
  • Manage the company's annual budget, working closely with department heads to gather input and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide regular reports to management on variances and trends.
  • Conduct budget analysis, prepares financial reports, and identifies areas of concern for Davao Bus and the company as a whole.
  • Work with various managers to address fund balance issues and in tracking and evaluating revenues and expenditures.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Ensure compliance with all BIR requirements and standards, including timely filing of tax returns and other regulatory reports.
  • Manage the company's tax planning and compliance activities.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Oversee the company's payroll processing.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting regulations and tax laws.
  • Knowledgeable in Accounting Software Tools (SAP, etc)
  • Ensure budget and accounting policies and procedures comply with laws and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in accounting and budgeting.
  • Licensed CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is REQUIRED.
  • Familiarity with BIR requirements and standards.
  • BIR and SEC accreditation.
  • Knowledgeable in Accounting Software Tools [Mention specific tools if you use any].
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in public transport.
