The Crewing Officer is responsible for managing all aspects of crew management, ensuring that vessels are manned with qualified, competent, and certified seafarers in compliance with company policies, flag state regulations, and international maritime laws. This role involves crew scheduling, documentation, travel arrangements, and coordination with vessels and crew members to support smooth operations.

• Plan and coordinate timely crew changes for assigned vessels.
• Source, screen, and recruit qualified seafarers as per vessel requirements.
• Monitor crew document validity (certificates, licenses, visas, medicals, etc.) and ensure compliance with STCW, MLC, and flag state requirements.
• Maintain updated crew databases and crew matrix.
• Coordinate with travel agents for flight bookings, visa applications, and accommodation arrangements.
• Ensure proper briefing and debriefing of crew before and after deployment.
• Track and manage training and certification schedules.
• Assist in crew welfare concerns, grievances, or emergencies.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on crew status, document expiries, and movement.

Requirements

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a crewing or manning role (shipping or maritime industry preferred).
• Knowledge of maritime regulations (STCW, MLC, ISM).
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and crew management systems.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience handling offshore or international crew deployments.
• Familiarity with Seabase and Crewtech (or similar) systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple vessels simultaneously.
