- Supervise the Breeding and GDU Department.
- Conducts meetings for the whole section.
- Ensures that all breeding and GDU KPI’s are met.
- Checks and analyzes reports.
- Lead train and motivate a team of farm workers in the Breeding and GDU Departments.
- Monitor the health status of sows, gilts, and boars, identifying and addressing any signs of illness, injury, or stress.
- Review and update farm policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to industry standards.
- Ensure that all facilities and equipment are functioning properly.
- Coordinate with peers regarding intersections concerns and Production Manager for section concerns.
- Ensure that the biosecurity protocols are strictly followed.
- Degree or certification in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- At least 3 years of experience in swine breeding and gilt development or similar animal husbandry roles.
- Strong leadership and people management skills. Proficient in animal health management, breeding, and gilt development techniques. Problem solving and critical thinking skills and computer literacy.
- Familiarity with biosecurity protocols, reproductive health practices, and farm safety standards.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Filipino (preferred).
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment. Willingness to work long hours when needed. Can work under pressure.
