Job Description

Description

Account Review & Investigation: You may interact with customer data or tickets related to disputes, chargebacks, or fraud complaints.

Customer Impact Awareness: Your decisions affect the user experience—freezing accounts, blocking payments, or approving refunds.

Cross-team Collaboration: Sometimes you'll work with Customer Support teams to resolve escalated cases or explain risk decisions.

Behind-the-Scenes Work: Most of the work is investigative, analytical, and not directly customer-facing.

Focus on Fraud & Risk: The primary goal is to detect and prevent fraudulent transactions, not to handle general inquiries or provide product help.

Technical/Analytical: It often involves using risk tools, reviewing transaction data, and providing feedback on fraud detection systems—things a traditional customer service rep doesn't usually do.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1 year of experience in fraud analysis, payments risk, or trust & safety—preferably in fintech, crypto, or e-commerce.
  • Strong understanding of payment methods (ACH, credit/debit cards, wires) and associated fraud risks.
  • Familiarity with fraud detection platforms, chargeback processes, and transaction monitoring tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, data-driven, and highly regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the cryptocurrency or blockchain industry.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or data analysis tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of U.S. and international regulatory requirements related to payments and fraud.
