Job Description

A planning and control staff member creates production schedules, monitors inventory, and coordinates with departments to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, timely delivery, and optimal resource utilization. Key responsibilities include analyzing production data, managing stock levels for raw materials to finished goods, resolving operational issues, and collaborating with procurement, manufacturing, and customer service teams to meet organizational goals. 


Responsibilities

  • Production Planning: Develop and implement detailed production schedules to optimize manufacturing processes and meet project timelines. 
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure efficient stock management and availability. 
  • Coordination: Maintain close liaison with purchasing, manufacturing, shipping, and customer service departments to resolve potential problems. 
  • Data Analysis: Analyze production and inventory data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement. 
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve issues related to material shortages, labor availability, and production backlogs. 
  • Forecasting: Forecast production needs and plan accordingly to meet future organizational goals. 
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain production reports for management review and decision-making. 
  • Material Control: Ensure timely availability of raw materials by coordinating with procurement teams and managing the release of purchase orders. 


Job Requirements

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong skills in analyzing data, identifying issues, and implementing solutions. 
  • Organizational & Time Management: Excellent ability to organize tasks, manage deadlines, and ensure timely completion of duties. 
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with various internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and other relevant computer technology. 
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and with different departments. 


Qualifications: 

  • A degree in industrial engineering, production management, or a related field.
  • Practical experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and inventory management systems.
