Description

  • The Structural QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all structural works on a construction project comply with relevant codes, standards, project specifications, and client requirements. The role involves inspecting, monitoring, and verifying all structural activities, materials, and workmanship to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement QA/QC procedures and inspection plans for structural works.
  • Review structural drawings, specifications, and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality audits on materials and workmanship.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors for quality-related matters.
  • Monitor and report on non-conformances, and ensure corrective/preventive actions are implemented.
  • Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation such as inspection reports, test results, NCRs, and material submittals.
  • Oversee structural material testing, including concrete, rebar, welding, bolting, and other structural elements.
  • Verify construction activities such as formwork, reinforcement placement, concrete pouring, post-tensioning, etc.
  • Ensure that all structural works are executed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide input on quality-related issues.
  • Support project handover and final documentation (as-built drawings, QA dossiers, etc.).

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a QA/QC role within structural or civil construction projects.
  • Previous experience in infrastructure, high-rise buildings, or industrial projects preferred.

Certifications (Preferred/Optional):

  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor
  • ACI (American Concrete Institute) Certification
  • CSWIP/ASNT Level II (for welding inspection)
  • PMP or other project management certifications (optional)

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of structural codes (ACI, BS, ASTM, Eurocodes, etc.)
  • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, material testing, and inspection methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and QA documentation software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
