What will you do?

The Senior Engineer, Roads will play a key technical role in project execution, applying their knowledge of road design, standards, and modelling software to develop high-quality solutions. This role will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and New Zealand-based stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met efficiently and accurately.

  • Prepare and review detailed road design drawings, models, and documentation using OpenRoads/Vehicle tracking and other relevant design tools.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including planners, surveyors, and structural engineers.
  • Ensure designs meet client specifications, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and technical reporting.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks are achieved.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review their work for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Liaise with New Zealand-based stakeholders and clients for project updates and reviews.
  • Stay updated with changes in NZ road design regulations and integrate best practices into the workflow.
  • Support tender preparation, cost estimation, and technical proposals when required.

What can you bring to the team?

Firstly, You Will Share Our Genuine Passion For Re-imagining Engineering And Be Someone That Actively Pursues Continuous Learning To Help Shape The Future. You Will Also Need The Following

  • 8+ years of experience in 2D/3D Highway geometric design experience
  • Detailed design experience but experience across the whole design life cycle (e.g. Concept, Preliminary, Detailed) is a plus
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads, Vehicle tracking, AutoCAD, and other relevant road design software. Experience in ProjectWise and Navisworks is an advantage
  • Preferably with experience working for Australia or New Zealand projects and/or Austroads standards
  • Working knowledge of Integrated / Federated Models is an advantage
  • Preferably with basic understanding of other disciplines (e.g. stormwater, Geotech, utilities)
  • Major Project experience (State Highways) is an advantage
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a remote team setting
