About the Role
We are seeking a talented and creative Social Media Video Editor to join our expanding digital content team. As part of WebLife Labs' innovative approach to e-commerce marketing, you will be responsible for creating high-engagement video content that drives performance across multiple social media platforms. This role combines creative storytelling with data-driven optimization, requiring expertise in fast-paced editing styles, platform-specific content creation, and trend awareness. You will work remotely as part of our global team, contributing to video content strategies that support our international e-commerce operations and brand growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Edit 10–15 short-form videos per week (under 90 seconds) optimized for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts using high-retention, fast-paced editing techniques.
- Produce 2–4 long-form videos weekly (3–15 minutes) for YouTube and other platforms, focusing on storytelling, SEO optimization, and watch-time retention.
- Add dynamic elements including subtitles, sound design, music, jump cuts, trending effects, and platform-specific features to maximize engagement.
- Create and integrate motion graphics, animations, and visual effects using Adobe After Effects to enhance content appeal and professionalism.
- Re-purpose long-form content into multiple short-form assets to maximize reach and efficiency across different platforms.
- Collaborate with creative strategists and content managers to maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all video content.
- Stay current with trends on YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, and LinkedIn to ensure content remains relevant and engaging.
- Adapt editing styles to match different brand voices and target audience preferences for diverse client portfolios.
- Apply platform-specific optimization techniques including hooks, retention strategies, and strategic call-to-action placement.
- Work within project management systems to track video production timelines, deliverables, and maintain organized asset libraries.
- Provide and incorporate feedback effectively while meeting tight production deadlines in a fast-paced creative environment.
Requirements
- Mandatory: Portfolio showcasing social media video editing work (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube content) must be submitted with the CV for application consideration.
- 1–3 years of proven experience editing content specifically for social media platforms with demonstrated engagement results.
- Mastery of professional video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Proficiency with Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and animation to enhance social media content.
- Strong understanding of platform-specific video performance factors including hooks, pacing, and retention strategies.
- Experience working with international clients, preferably from US, UK, or Australia markets.
- Deep understanding of what drives performance on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and LinkedIn video content.
- Ability to adapt editing styles across different brand voices and target audiences effectively.
- Knowledge of video SEO principles and optimization techniques for content discoverability.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and deadline management abilities.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently while maintaining high productivity standards in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating effectively with international, cross-functional teams.
